Wind Wasn’t A Factor Bike Ride
For a change the wind wasn’t a factor in the bike ride. Nice way to end May biking as I rode the “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route for 33.16 miles. May riding totaled 877.63 miles, the most miles in a month since August 2018. I am on track to bike 200+ miles this week with 182.79 miles so far and Saturday to go. I started biking at 11:13 AM and finished at 1:47 PM.
Weather during the bike ride: start 87 (75% humidity), overcast, wind variable 4 mph. Finish 93 (57% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind calm. With the temperature above 90 my choice of clothing was comfortable: shorts, short sleeve jersey, and arm sleeves.
As I rode through Tavola the colorful flowers caught my eye.
I altered the route to go around the construction zone on the I-69/US59 north bound frontage road at Community Drive. The work on the Grand Parkway overpass has the frontage road down to one lane so I moved to Loop 494 which was not affected as much. Not sure how long this will last so rides to the north will need to move to Loop 494.
A recap of May biking. I rode 26 days.
