Short Report – Bruce is Tired Tonight after after a long ride today. We crossed into the Central time zone yesterday so it has us fouled up for early starts. We deviated from the ACA Route and rode Highway 90, rather than doing the Fort Davis route and climbs. Trying to stay on schedule, but more importantly ahead of the east winds. It appears they caught us and we will be east winding it for the next few days. This means working with the maps, looking at alternate lodging and camping options. This is not particularly easy as so many places are simply out of business or are reported to be downright crappy. It is crazy to see so many …

Deadly crash raises awareness about bike safety

HOUSTON (FOX 26) – Today marks one week since a cyclist died in a collision with an HISD school bus in the Heights. While the investigation into the cause of the accident continues, we want people out there on the roads to always be mindful of bicycles.
It was last Thursday when 23-year-old David Loya was riding his bicycle on Heights Blvd. near 8th Street. He was run over by an HISD school bus, and died at the scene.

SWEETWATER, Texas (KRBC) – Two years ago Conrad, a 7-year-old boy with autism, was told he would never ride a bike. But an adaptive bike has made the impossible possible.
"That allowed us to do therapy every day, several times a day and it also got him to socialize," said Pamela Nelson, Conrad’s Mom.
The bike was just the first step in his journey, and he’s now opening up thanks to two high school football players and their friendship. …
