Cabin Fever Almost Set In Bike Ride
The last bike ride was October 13th but I should’ve rode on Sunday the 14th. That was the last day with suitable weather. Starting Monday the temperature dropped and the rain moved in. I had doubts about biking today because early this morning it rained but it moved out and the streets dried. I didn’t have too much time to ride so I chose the “Kingwood to FM1960” route and biked 17.31 miles. With all of the days not biking I am falling behind on getting to my 700 mile goal for the month with only 461.3 miles so far. Not sure how the weather will be over the next few days but I will ride if possible.
Today the weather was like this during the ride.
This was in the lower limits of my temperature threshold but I bundled up and headed out at 10:36 am. I wasn’t the only cyclist out as I saw four others on W. Lake Houston Parkway. They rode north as I approached from Kingwood Greens Drive South getting ready to ride south.
I probably overdressed with leg warmers, a thermal long sleeve jersey, long sleeve jersey, wind breaker jacket, shorts and full finger gloves. When I finished at 11:56 am all of these clothes were wet from perspiration. Because the ride was shorter than normal and to add a little to the workout I rode the Blue Norcross AL bike. It weighs about 7 pounds more than the Canyon Endurace CF SLX I normally ride.
Hopefully the weather follows the forecast for Friday, 83 degrees and 50% chance of rain. I need to ride!!
