Lawn Care Workers Under the Truck Bike Ride
The sky looked threatening to the south but as I rode west and north on the “New Caney – Roman Forest – Valley Ranch” route the dark clouds tagged along. I felt a few rain drops but nothing to worry about. I altered the route slightly using the new exit from Kingwood through Woodridge Forest and including the Tavola loop from Roman Forest Blvd. The totaled 38.32 miles, a mile or less than usual.
Home construction in a couple communities I rode through continues making me wonder where are the buyers coming from. Some of this may be from the opening of the Grand Parkway last year.
Wheels started rolling at 11:21 AM with a cloudy sky and 83 degrees. I took a 20 minute break at the Stripes station at FM 1314 and Valley Ranch Parkway at 27.1 miles into the bike ride. This was mainly to let the dark clouds to south move to the west. I refilled my water bottle and sat under the pump canopy enjoying the light breeze cool me down and dry my jersey some. Not too far away several workers from LHLC took a break by laying under their truck in the shade.
With the dark clouds to the west I left Stripes riding through Briar Tree and Oakhurst before getting back to US59. All of the schools are out for the summer but it looked like the Humble ISD teachers still were there. I finished the ride at 2:34.
