Custom bike stolen from Cleburne’s favorite cyclist
Todd Unger | www.wfaa.com
CLEBURNE, Texas — It’s a safe bet that one of the more popular employees at the H-E-B grocery store in Cleburne is Alex Wilson.
At age 24, he’s always wearing a smile and ready with a friendly wave. He’s even more well-known around town, where Alex and a custom $3,000 bicycle nicknamed “Sarah” are always on the move.
The bike affords him the …

2017 Complete Streets Progress Report
bikehouston.org
On May 2nd, the Houston Coalition for Complete Streets hosted the City Planning and Public Works & Engineering Department for report on their work in building Complete Streets. 70 people representing Coalition organizations, management districts, and city departments attended the meeting. We learned that the City of Houston is now critically not putting car through-put as the number one priority, but rather evaluating mobility as a whole. New design standards will be put into place to make this routine, along with better community engagement and regulations. One example of this is …

A Word From Our Director………. John Long
bikehouston.org
Thanks to Mary Blitzer. Bike Houston’s advocacy director is moving on. In Mary’s three years at BikeHouston she’s done so much to impact our city. Her most notable achievement is the Bike Plan — the first comprehensive bike plan adopted by the City of Houston in twenty-four years. Clearly she did not get that done single-handedly. Far from it. But Mary worked like a sheep dog to get it done, first helping to get the plan written and then helping to get it adopted by City Council. To do so, she connected with the planning department, city council members, traffic engineers, BikeHouston supporters, thirty non-profit organizations that belong to the Houston Coalition for Complete Streets, the members of the Bicycle Advisory Committee as well as …
