Doc’s Motorworks has teamed up with Ozone Bikes for Texas Two-Wheel Tuesdays!
Each Tuesday night starting November 4th, Doc’s will be giving away one bicycle to one lucky winner at the 38th St. restaurant. In order to win, simply ENTER ON DO512 for the date you’d like to win. Please note, you must be 21+ and MUST be present during the time of the drawing. Drawing times vary based on the Tuesday of the month.
Drawings will take place on the:

Austinites Celebrate Bicycle Culture at Inaugural BikeFest

Hundreds of people showed up for the inaugural Austin BikeFest in in East Austin this weekend.
Bikers got out to compare bikes and enjoy live music, food and craft beer along with a bike fashion show.
The celebration was held in partnership with Capital Metro to commemorate the opening of the Southern Walnut Creek Trail. The 7-mile trail, which starts at Govalle Park and goes north, has been years in the making.

Rain Makes for Bike and Run Fun

I was lucky enough last week to get in a bike workout and then a transition run on a cool day with light rain falling.
That wet workout reminded me of some epic events from past years that took place in really wet conditions.
Although many people instinctively retreat indoors to the stationary bike or treadmill during inclement weather, bike and run events or workouts that take place in rain (or mud, or snow) are special and should be looked forward to.
One of my most memorable ride-in-the rain events took place on the second day of the 1999 Ride the Rockies cycling tour in Colorado.
That day’s ride was a 76-mile trip from Cortez to Telluride with the final part of the route going…
