“Ride Texas” Cyclists begin Pedaling in Wichita Falls

It’s still dark out as riders meet at a local fast food chain before a 525 mile bike ride.
Inside, folks are chatting with excitement, while they take in some last minute fuel for their trek.
These cyclists, most veterans themselves, are part of “Ride Texas.”
“Warriors on Wheels,” pedaling to make a difference.
“When you lose somebody that you have been friends with for so many years it’s like losing a part of your family and if you can give back to someone in similar circumstances to me it makes it all worth wild,†said Heath Werner, one of the cyclists.

You know, as a group we’re a pretty great bunch of citizens. We race bikes for fitness and fun (and pain), some live clean lives, we care about nature. Sometimes we even get to race for a cause. Which is always the case when we head to the Georgetown Cyclocross Festival (#GCFCX), a fundraiser for CX Project 2015.
