Chill in the Air – April 21st Bike Ride
The chill was still not out of the air as I rode through Walden at Lake Houston and Huffman. The refused to stay out retreating behind the clouds enough for me to wish I had worn two long sleeve jerseys instead of the short sleeve long sleeve combination I chose. The temperature was 74 at my home when I left on the ride but in Huffman it was 72 according to Action Sign’s banner sign. Whenever I rode into the wind while in the shade I got chilly. This happened frequently because of the numerous clouds. The wind was strong at 3.5 mph but when you add my speed it still created windchill. When I got back home at 3 PM it was 78 degrees.
Riding to Walden and Huffman was a 31.3 mile route and I managed a 15.0 mph average speed. My April mileage is inching up and totals 468.83 miles and year to date totals 1783.47 miles. I did not see any other bikers today. This route is a consistent road surface with the causeway over Lake Houston shoulders containing the usual litter.

Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up some to 79 with partly cloudy skies. Sounds like a great day to ride.
