Stage One: Road Race
The race started with temperatures in the high 50s with light winds that picked up as the day progressed. With all the GC positions up for grabs and everyone starting on equal ground, the women’s open field was hungry to race. Attacks started early with a few short breaks and a couple of promising splits that ultimately came back together.
