The 4th Annual South By South Fixed ride. 3 Days. 240 Miles. By far the best way to get to SXSW.
A weekend of Bike riding and Beer drinking to kick off the week long festival.
Traditionally this has been a fixed gear ride, however geared bikes are welcome.

ABILENE, Texas – The twenty-first annual Steam-N-Wheels Bike Race and Fun Ride will take place Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m. The event will begin and end at Nelson Park. Three distances will be available to choose from: a 48-mile race/tour course along with 32-mile or 12-mile fun ride courses. The event is open to all ages and participants may race for awards or ride for fun. Awards will be presented to the first three places in each age division for the 48-mile race only. 48-miles racers will be time by Cadence Sports.
The pre-registration entry fee is $25 per person through March 22. Entries are being accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the City of Abilene Community Services Office located at 633 Walnut. Entries will also be accepted the day of the…

Plano Start/Finish location: NW corner of Coit and Spring Creek, Plano
Destination: Dallas West End for lunch at Dick’s Last Resort (Bring your lunch money and meet other Metro-plex cyclists at Dick’s). Don’t want to eat at Dick’s? OK, pick another local favorite (Hooters is next door). Don’t want to stay for lunch? OK, a group may return to Plano after a quick pit stop.
Pace: Average speed for the entire ride 15-17 mph
Distance: 48 miles. Back in plenty of time to nap through the super bowl
