Cycling demonstration set for Nov. 29
By Pam LeBlanc            Fit City
Austin’s bicycling community, rocked by several recent fatalities, will ride slowly up Congress Avenue on Nov. 29 in a demonstration aimed at improving riding conditions.
The cyclists will gather at 6 p.m. at City Hall, then pedal to the State Capitol, during the Pedaling for Safer Roads event.
Organizers say they hope to send a message to lawmakers and city officials that better biking infrastructure and more motorist education is needed to keep cyclists safe. They also want more enforcement of laws protecting cyclists.
“We hope this gathering can be a catalyst for change to bring about awareness and educate everyone who uses our roads while protecting people on bicycles, our most vulnerable road users,†said a press release from Please…

Howl at the Moon II
by sooner1Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Shawnee Trail Cycling Club
After a GREAT time last year, we’ve been asked to host another “Howl at the Moon” night. Everyone is welcome (as always), but as we did last year, we’re extending a special invitation our good friends from PBA to join us for a fantastic ride and some great eats and drinks afterwards. This year we’ll be giving our patronage to Rudy’s BBQ, so I hope you like pulled pork, jalapeno sausage and, my favorite – hot peach cobbler (yumm!). You might even see a werewolf while you’re riding – so watch out, he’s one of Frisco’s own. This is being held as part of our Thursday Night Rider, so regular routes and rules apply.
STCC offers 5 pace groups on our Thu Night Rider now, so even more choices for your riding pleasure.
