The City Council received an update Monday on the extension of the Central Trail, which runs from the Spring Creek Trail in north Richardson and currently ends at the Arapaho Road DART Station. The City expects to begin construction on the trail in January and complete the project in early 2014. The 1.9-mile extension will cost $4 million and is funded through Richardson’s 2010 Bond Program and…

I hadn’t been biking consistently for about 20 years or so, since my very early teens. Lack of funds, time, and frankly interest prevented me from getting really into it. During this time, though, I’d learned of some of the different varieties of mountain biking and decided that it was something that I eventually wanted to…
Throwback Route
by Ken         Texas Racing Life
I’m in Austin recruiting right now. Tons of interviews, seeing tons of students, shaking tons of hands! It’s always fun to get back on the UT campus. I go back about once a year, and it’s amazing how much change happens every time. I am so suprised by the multiple building that they have started building!!
I also got a chance to ride one of my favorite routes while I lived in Austin, Shoal Creek. It circles around a neighborhood and includes a section of about 5 minutes of uninterrupted road. The whole loop is about 10 minutes long. I took my TT bike and did a grueling 3 x20 min workout as preparation for Tour de Gruene on November 3. Most of my ride was in the dark but I had my strong light so I could see. I felt like the Shoal Creek was exempt from the changes in Austin: there was even…
