Almost Made It To 3,000 – June 7th Bike Ride
The rain did not make an appearance so I rode my bicycle. Maybe tomorrow says the weatherman. We could use some rain though. I did notice the air felt cooler today especially at the start when I was on a short stretch of greenbelt trail with plenty of shade. The partly cloudy sky, calm wind and the temperature of 86 to 92 was inviting. When I finished at 1:56 the humidity was 46%. Around here any time the humidity is below 70% it is a dry day.
I went north today on a route I use frequently. Mileage came in at 30.5 at a 15.7 mph average speed. As I traveled south along US59 I felt like I wasn’t putting out much effort so I moved to a smaller rear gear and increased my cadence. I wanted to get my max speed higher than yesterday’s 19.9 mph. So my max speed ended up at 24.8 mph with my average cadence of 78.0 RPM indicates that I wasn’t putting out much effort. My start was later than I prefer (11:08 AM) so I did not take any long rest stops.
With today’s ride my weekly miles stand at 132.88, June is up to 206.98 and YTD almost got to 3,000 at 2997.36. Link to RideWithGPS.com data and map.
