Best Tire Combo for Texas (Houston & Conroe)
by Blk02Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â forums.mtbr.com
I have been running the Kenda Nevegals front and back 29×2.10 on my Pivot since I brought it back from Colorado, but the Nevegal rear tire is a slow roller. I had to air the rear tire up to 40psi before I felt like I was moving again on the trails at Huntsville. I am 190lbs. I am wondering about keeping the front tire and swapping the rear with something new. I was thinking a Maxxis Crossmark or Kenda Slant Six for the rear. I am leaning more towards the Slant Six because it seems to have more bite and cornering ability. Also, whether to go with the Slant Six 29×2.00 or 29×2.20. There is about a 40g weight difference. I will stick with the tube version because the…

San Antonio Bike Shops….Need Advice
by jasmorg1075Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â forums.mtbr.com
I have a 2011 Giant Anthem X 29er. I took it into one of the shops on the north central side of town (not Performance Bike) and I will not name the shop, but I seem to be having a few problems that they can’t address or won’t address.
I brought the bike in to get 3 specific items looked at (crazy loud front brake, creaking/grinding bottom braket/cranks, and real wheel seems off center (dish issue?).
I was told to start off with a tune up and they can address those areas. Wife picked up the bike so I couldn’t address issues then. I got home…looked at bike at the rear wheel is still slightly left. It doesn’t’ affect the rideability and I’ve read there are other Anthem owners with same problem (it just…

Marine Corps Logistics Base ALBANY Ga. — Rick Hermelin has taken it upon himself to bike 3,000 miles across country. The catch: He is 71 years old and is accomplishing the feat by traveling on an elliptical bicycle, an apparatus powered by a walk/run motion rather than pedaling.
