A heavier long sleeve jersey and more sunshine – December 2nd Bike Ride
A heavier long sleeve jersey and more sunshine were what I needed for today’s ride. When I left home the temperature on my weather station was 74 degrees but it didn’t take long to realize that in the shade is was several degrees cooler and cooler places. The 10 to 13 mph southeast breeze added to the coolness even though the sky was clear and the sun bright. This is going to change tomorrow afternoon when rain and cold weather are supposed to arrive. After three rides with my mountain bike I figured it was time to be back on my road bike. I rode to Huffman and back for a total of 29.53 miles at an average speed of 15.8 mph and a max speed of 23.7 mph. The return portion was aided by the tailwind breeze and an attempt to get back to meet a man about my roof. I was riding fast but he beat me there so I had to stop a couple of times to talk to him on my cellphone. After 2 days in December my miles are 47.86 and year to date I am at 5419.16 miles. At this rate I should be able to get to 200 miles or more for December. I hope to ride tomorrow but there are some chores I need to do as well.
