Clear blue skies and a temperature 20 to 25 degrees below… – October 2nd Bike Ride
Clear blue skies and a temperature 20 to 25 degrees below what I am used to greeted me for today’s ride. A cool front passed through yesterday and overnight it was 58 degrees. I was wondering what it would be by the time I was able to ride this morning. It was 75 degrees (34% humidity) when I started and 83 degrees (29% humidity) when I finished. It felt like there was a brisk northeast or north wind but the weather stations show that it is calm. This may account for my average speed of 15.6 mph on my Garmin Edge (SportTracks reduced this to 15.4 mph). My average cadence was a great 82.5 RPM, the highest it has been since August 27th when I rode the Hotter’n Hell Hundred. This weather is supposed to continue for several days so hopefully I can take advantage of it. This is the first ride for October so the monthly mileage is not adding up yet and the year to date miles are now 4266.57. Today’s ride was 25.23 miles. I did see a couple of other bikers out enjoying the weather but they were not close enough to recognize.
