Bike the Bend for Literacy – Richmond, TX
Bike the Bend for Literacy, presented by Texas Direct Auto, will be held Sunday, Nov. 20. The popular event is an opportunity to get some exercise, enjoy the scenery of Fort Bend County, prepare for the MS 150 or just spend some quality time having fun with family, friends and neighbors.
Bike the Bend is a BP MS 150 Recommended Ride benefiting the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County and begins at 8 a.m., starting and finishing at Foster High School, 4400 FM 723, in Richmond
Riders return each year to enjoy this event, which is strategically scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Along Bike the Bend’s scenic 19, 32 or 59-mile routes, riders will enjoy first-rate rest stops stocked with fruit and snacks provided by Whole Foods Market as well as a variety of cold beverages to fuel the ride.
Interested bikers may register online at Active.com or by calling the Literacy Council at 281-240-8181.
All proceeds will support the life-changing work of the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, whose mission is to end inter-generational cycles of illiteracy and generate community-wide literacy awareness. Riders, sponsors and volunteers participating in Bike the Bend for Literacy are helping to unlock the potential for determined adults who want to pass a legacy of literacy (proficiency in reading, writing and understanding the written English language) to their children.
