I was inspired to go out and find a category 2 mountain – July 20th Bike Ride
After a rest day I was back riding today. Yesterday also brought 1.04″ of rain at my house. This does not relieve the drought but my grass shot up a couple of inches over night. We watched stage 16 of the Tour de France and I was inspired to go out and find a category 2 mountain but we don’t have anything close to that in southeast Texas so I settled for a bridge over Lake Houston which was flat. I did ride 25.01 miles though. My route should have a groove in it since I seem to go the same way each day during the week. This route is the easiest with traffic and the distance lines up with the time I have. Sometime in the last week or two the street sweepers have made a pass on the McKay Causeway over Lake Houston. This is a good thing since that is where I get flats. The Hutchinson Fusion 2 tires have been riding perfectly and there are about 600 miles on them already.
Average speed today was 15.2 mph and the max speed was 21.9 mph. Average cadence was 81.2 RPM which is several RPM’s higher than my recent levels. July miles are now 411.93 and year to date miles are 3251.02. No other bikers were seen.
