For three days now we have been rain teased – June 7th Bike Ride
For three days now we have been rain teased at my home. Each day the rain is all around us but none makes it to the parched earth that used to be my yard. Sunday we watched the radar as the rain moved around our area and as it approached our dry spot the cloud split and went around us. This continues to produce nice bike riding weather but it is not good for the vegetation. I did not ride last evening because I was supposed to attend a webinar but I got caught in bad traffic on the way home and missed it. So my rest day was Monday and switched Tuesday to a ride day. This will make for three riding days in a row, weather permitting.
The partly cloudy skies and low 90’s temperature for this evening’s ride was great although the humidity is creeping up into the 50 – 60 % range from the rain. A light 8 mph south wind helped to move things around make the sweat not so heavy. I saw several other bikers on Old Atascocita Road.
The 28.68 miles was at a 15.4 mph average speed which is higher than usual. My max speed was 22.7 mph and the average cadence was 82 rpm. June miles are now 150.23 and the year to date miles are 2327.94.
