Celebrate National Trails Day with the Comanche Cyclone
In celebration of National Trails Day, Comanche Main Street, Comanche Chamber of Commerce, and the Friends of Historic Comanche will host the 7th Annual COMANCHE CYCLONE BICYCLE TOUR on Saturday, June 4, 2011. The first Saturday every June is designated National Trails Day (NTD) in the United States. On that day every year more than a million hikers, bikers, equestrians, and others take part in thousands of events nationwide in celebration of America’s scenic trails and routes.
The CYCLONE TOUR offers a route for cyclists of all skill and experience levels, from the “Lance Armstrong†types, to those just beginning their interest in cycling. The Tour will kickoff at 8:00 a.m. and riders will depart from Comanche High School for the various routes – 10 mile, 22 mile, 28 mile, 42 mile, 55 mile, and the granddaddy 75 mile.
Cyclists may download a registration form from the event website at WWW.COMANCHECYCLONE.ORG. Pre-registration will also be available from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3rd at the high school. Sponsorship opportunities are available and volunteers are always appreciated. For more information, visit the COMANCHE CYCLONE website, or contact Comanche Main Street at (325) 356-2032 or the Comanche Chamber of Commerce at (325) 356-3233.
