The Chamber of Commerce weather has left town. The clear skies have been replaced by heavy overcast skies and the temperature struggled to hit 80 degrees today. Wind at the finish was 21 mph from the southeast with gusts to 25 mph. I was trying to make a quick ride in order to get back home to watch the Giro d’Italia and the Tour of California. On the way out to the turn around point at FM2100 and Old Atascocita Road the wind was battling me all the way. At one point riding east over Lake Houston on FM1960 I got hit by a gust of wind that almost brought me to a standstill. I was wondering if the clouds would drop some rain but nothing happened.
Once I turned around back home the wind was a helper and I was able to keep my speed above 18 mph most of the time. Average speed was 15.2 mph for the 28.28 mile ride. My maximum speed was 21.0 mph with average cadence at 80.4 rpm. Max cadence was 108 rpm. My rest day seemed to help the tired legs since I could get the ava
