The winds were tricky on FM1960 – April 18th
The winds were tricky on FM1960 over Lake Houston. When I was headed east I could look down on Lake Houston and the waves were about 1 or 2 feet tall. Whenever a vehicle passed on my left I could feel the relief but as soon as they moved past a gust would come from the right. Going the opposite direction across the lake also was tricky again as vehicles would pass on my left and block the wind and then move out of the way. There were times when I was leaning left into the wind. I could tell when I was riding the portion of the causeway that is open underneath which increased the wind flow. The north side of the causeway shielded the lake and the water was very calm, almost glass like.
Partly cloudy skies and a temperature around 80 degrees was pleasant during the ride. I had some extra daylight from last week as the sunset has been coming later. I was again able to ride over 23 miles. My legs need a little more time to recover from the weekend miles.
April mileage update:
- April miles 394.94
- YTD miles 1221.61
