Spring must be here – April 6th Bike Ride
Spring must be here. On my ride tonight there was a ski boat pulling a water skier on the San Jacinto River along the W. Lake Houston Parkway bridge. I am not sure what the water temperature is but I think it is colder than I would like to fall into. The air temperature was 77 degrees when I started my ride and 71 degrees when I finished. Clear skies are still here but the 12.7 mph south wind made the air feel cooler than it was. I am glad I wore a long sleeve jersey because at times I was cool. I saw two other bikers which is unusual on my evening rides. I felt good riding with quick legs and snappy acceleration. Now that I am approaching the 1,000 mil mark I think my conditioning is getting better. My Motobecane Le Champion road bike is a joy to ride. I am glad I made the bike purchase. Later tonight I plan on registering for the Katy Ram Challenge ride for this Saturday. The weather is supposed to be 70 to 85 degrees with partly cloudy skies. I will need to leave home about 6:00 AM to make it to Katy.
April mileage update:
