Cyclist hit, killed as he tries to cross Gulf Freeway

A man died after he was hit by a vehicle when the tried to ride his bicycle across Interstate 45 in southeast Houston early this morning. The crash occurred on the Gulf Freeway near Griggs about 12:30 a.m., Monday, according to the Houston Police Department. Police said the man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
