What to Expect:
This trip is designed to give the beginner cyclist an introduction to bicycle touring and provide the more experienced cyclist with an opportunity to explore the Texas Hill Country. Our trip begins at Blanco State Park as we camp along the banks of the beautiful Blanco River. The next morning we begin our day with a healthy breakfast and after a thorough “safety talk†we hit the road for a 20 mile ride to Canyon Lake. While at Canyon Lake we will take a swim (weather depending) and enjoy a hearty lunch, and then it is off for another 20-mile ride to Wimberley. Saturday evening we will camp at the Texas State University Camp on the banks of the Blanco River under huge cypress trees and enjoy some much needed rest. Sunday after breakfast we ride for Dripping Springs (34.2 miles) and load up the trailer for the short drive back to Austin. Sag wagons and trailer will be available for anyone who may tire out before we get to our final destination. Please be aware of the physical fitness demands of a trip of this nature and register accordingly.
