October 14th Bike Ride – There is a Chill in the Air
When I left home this evening for my ride I could tell there was going to be a change in the weather. It was a good thing that I decided to wear a long sleeve jersey for the ride. I was dressed just right. When I stopped for a traffic light, even for a short period of time, I could feel the cool air going through the jersey and was chilled for a minute or so until my body heat kicked in as I started riding again. It might get down in the upper 40’s tonight but I doubt it. when I got back from the ride the temperature was 70 degrees, wind a light 4 mph WNW and clear skies but dark.
No special events during the ride except I ran into clouds of micro-gnats a couple of times. At night you cannot see these things until you are in them. It pays to keep your mouth closed. Several joggers and walkers were out, still no lights.
The ride data:
- October miles 264.97
- YTD miles 4266.56
