Back Home from The Vacation – September 26th Bike Ride

Today’s ride was the first since we returned from our three week vacation. The flat land here is quite different from the hills to mountains I encountered while I was on vacation. The weather here has a definite Fall feel to it. The temperature was 83 degrees with scattered clouds and a 11 to 12 mph NNW wind. According to the weather people this will be the first Fall “cool front” for our area. As a celebration I put the bikini top on my Jeep Wrangler. The weather is supposed to be clear and crisp in the mornings for the drive to work at least through Thursday. I’ll see if I can make it to then without getting caught in the rain.
It looks like I will not reach my goal of 400 miles for the month but I will be close to 300. I still plan on making it to 5,000 for the year but I will probably have to endure some cold day rides to make it happen.
During my absence not much has changed on my route that I rode. The roads are much smoother than some I rode in Zanesville and Mobile, AL. but about the same as Williamsburg and Lancaster. No other riders were spotted today.
Today’s ride statistics:
- miles 26.36
