Not riding in Texas for now; I moved on from Mobile, AL to Savannah and Garden City, GA. I have never been to these cities so riding was dependent on what I could learn from Google maps. The area has a number of bike lanes and I rode mostly on them. The bike lanes are marked clearly but it is strange to be riding along and the bike lane ends abruptly with no directions to turn off or turn around. And then further ahead the lane starts up again. This explains what I was seeing on Google maps with the bicycling information highlighted. The route was fairly flat unlike the one in Mobile.
Even though I used Google maps I still managed to get lost a couple of times. It was not so bad that I could not get back on course once I realized I was not going where I planned. I will get another chance on tomorrow morning’s ride. I did see another rider though.
After the bike ride we went to the historic Savannah downtown district for a trolley car tour. Very interesting city with tons of history. I would recommend using the Old Savannah Tours trolley ride and ask for the driver Chris. Labor Day was busy but not too bad.
