I’ve noticed that from the national level to the local Dorba level there are MUCH smaller groups of ladies racing than men. Seeing 2 ladies compete in one category’s age group is just a bummer. Since USAC doesn’t seem to be doing a whole lot to address this I thought I would bring it up with the Dorba folks. Why not eliminate age groups and just have racing based on your category, like road racing. It seems like it would beef up the number of racers per category. If you want to do 3 laps and train hard, race cat 1. If you ride occasionally for fun, race cat 3. Whatchya think? …
A Bicycle Ride with 14,000 of My Closest Friends…

That’s right…that is a comma after the 14…and that is what the Hotter N Hell 100 Mile Ride attendance was for last year…and they are expecting to surpass that this coming weekend.
With so many riders, well, I don’t know what my expectations should be as far as finishing time. The experienced guys say that for the first 20 to 30 miles expect mayhem, wrecks and carnage on the road…and so for getting a good pace and going strong…well that probably won’t happen…unless…well….unless you get up closer to the front…and hammer out of the start. You know… burn a few of the matches in the book to get on down the road and then settle into a pace line. …
Hargrave’s Solavaca Mountain Bike Adventure – A Texas Mountain Bike Trail
Summer at the Solavaca = OPEN, Hot and Dry
Gate is open before dawn and the trail is open until dusk. The creek crossings are all dry now as we settle into the dry-month pattern until the rains come next in the Fall(?) or Spring(?). Early and late riding is recommended. Be sure and drink lots of water.
The Solavaca is on the schedule for TMBRA Spring XC Championship Series again – March 19-20, 2011.
This Texas mountain bike trail is located in the limestone hills of the Paluxy River watershed. Just down the road…
