Houston faces more high heat indexes

Sticky, steamy heat gripping the Houston region in recent days is forecast to continue today and much of the week.
But scattered thunderstorms could give coastal areas a brief break from the searing triple-digit heat and parched conditions Thursday when a storm system sloshes ashore near New Orleans, possibly helping to spread rain showers toward the Houston area.

TxDOT to hold public meeting for Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan
TYLER — The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to host an open-house-style meeting 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose Garden Center, located at 420 Rose Park Drive, Tyler, adjacent to the East Texas Fairgrounds.
The meeting is designed to gather input from the public to be used in the development of the Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan.
