2 Times Triple Digits – August 11th Bike Ride

As I was riding this evening when I got to the Kwik Kar Auto Center at Pinehurst Trail and FM1960 their temperature sign was flashing 100 degrees. When I left home the heat index was at 104 degrees. To keep this triple digit theme going I also aired up my tires to 110 PSI before I left. The extra air pressure made a difference in the ride this evening although it could have been because I had not ridden since Monday. The wheels turned faster, or so it seemed. I will have to look at the ride statistics below to see if my perception matches reality. Overcast skies kept the sun hidden and the light 9 mph SSW breeze was not a factor either. Surprisingly the humidity was 43% and as I rode east over the FM1960 McKay Causeway I thought I felt a few rain sprinkles. Yard-wise I need some rain. We went from a wet July to a very dry August.
No other riders were out this evening.
