Close Out June With Rain – Bike Activity for the Month
I was hoping to close out the month of June with a ride. Instead I was indoors watching the rain from Hurricane Alex as he dissipated over Mexico. Thursday is not much better with some strong rain bands coming into southeast Texas. So in my idle time I thought I would recap the month’s riding action.
I did no organized rides this month. There are plenty of rides out there but not close enough that I can get there when I drive from home on Saturday morning. There was my brief interruption going into the hospital. This probably kept me from exceeding the 600 mile mark for June. No major mechanical problems but I did suffer some on the road flats. Replacing my chain was a good idea even though I did not remove any links until the next day’s ride.
June bicycling statistics:
- total miles = 525.91 (June 2009 miles = 630.89)
- number of days riding = 16
- average miles per ride = 32.86
- longest ride = 62.13
- total riding time = 35:43:05
- average speed for the month = 14.7 mph
- average pace for the month = 4:05 min/mile
- average cadence for June = 78.3 rpm
- total ascending for the month = 3,416 ft.
With no riding yesterday I took pictures of my bikes.
