Tropical Storm Alex Plays in the Gulf of Mexico – June 29th Bike Ride
This evening on the drive home I went through some heavy rain showers. Earlier today the weatherman was predicting the outer bands of tropical storm Alex could bring some rain. I was hoping this would not be in the areas I planned on riding to this evening. After taking yesterday off to recover from the weekend I was really wanting to ride and get closer to my June goal. I am already short of the goal due to my hospital visit. The skies were cloudy and the temperature was only in the mid-80’s but the wind had picked up from yesterday’s rather mild breeze. At times during the day I saw wind speed in the 20’s but during this evening’s ride it was 13 mph max.
Alex will continue to mess with my riding plans for the next several days but I will work around him.
Nothing unusual about this evening’s ride; no other riders spotted, roads were not damp except for a few spots and I felt good pedaling. I continue to use my Diadora shoes over my Shimano RD075’s. My feet feel liberated. I checked the progress on my new shoes and FedEx says they will deliver them on July 6th.
Today’s ride statistics:
