Blueberries Are Ready To Pick – May 27th Bike Ride
I got word this morning that the blueberries are ripe and ready to pick. So Saturday we can go pick some and eat more. The farm where we go has several varieties and the big juicy ones are the ones ripening first. So I plan on hitting the bike ride early Saturday so that I can get back for chores and then off to the farm.
Today’s ride was uneventful for me but for one young man and his elderly Chevy truck it was not so fortunate. I was waiting to cross a street and he turned into the street where I was waiting. As he rounded the corner one of the front wheel axles broke and he came to a screeching halt. As I crossed the street I could hear him pounding the fender of the truck loudly.
A north 6 mph breeze, 85 degrees and partly cloudy sky were waiting for the ride. An ozone alert was supposed to be in effect but I did not notice any difference. No other riders were out on my route.
Today’s ride statistics:
- miles = 23.28
