4 Days in a Row, May 20th Bike Ride
This week I have ridden four days in a row. Normally I do not like to do this because I have a sense of over training. This early in the year I need to space out my rides and keep the rest days in proportion. Next week I will be taking Monday off if I can ride on Saturday and Sunday or Tuesday if I miss one of those days.
Today during the ride I got to flip a squirrel. Squirrels have this habit of running almost all the way across the street and turning around going back to the side they started from. This evening a pair took off in front of me. One of them made it past my front wheel but the other didn’t. My wheel caught him somehow and flipped up into the crank and seat tube where he bounced off my right forearm and back to the ground. Once he hit the road he took off to the curb on my right side. I have hit squirrels before but this the first one that was this acrobatic.
Weather wise the temperature was 88 degrees. The partly cloudy skies and 13 mph S wind made for a cool ride. No other riders were out that I saw. Tomorrow is a rest day.
