April 6th Ride Report: Cooler, Legs Recovered Some
The wind was brisk this evening. Gusts to 22 mph and a steady 14 mph out there made the 74 degrees seem cooler than it really was. Add in the overcast skies and cool was in the air. According to one of the Houston Chronicle’s weather bloggers, tomorrow’s cool front will bring the last 40 degree temperatures until November.
Normally I take Tuesday’s off but I pleaded my case with my wife that the rain on Wednesday will stop my riding so I needed to ride this evening instead.
This seemed like a good plan until I got home from my ride and attempted to upload my ride data into SportsTrack so I could generate my usual ride map and charts. I checked the Garmin 305’s screen when I pulled into the driveway and everything looked like it was working. I should have written the data down because when I started to upload the last date of data was yesterday’s ride. Nothing was imported and nothing was in the history file on the 305 for 4/6/2010. The only real piece of data that I remembered was the miles: 19.18. Searching the Garmin support site did not help much but Google eventually showed a similar situation from another rider. I followed the instructions to do a master reset. Now I just have to wait for the next ride to see if the 305 is back to recording and exporting data. So, no map or charts for today’s ride.
