Back on the Road Again, Clear Skies and a Strong Wind
After a two day interruption I managed to get a ride in tonight even though I stopped on the way home for the Clear WiMax blogger party at Dave & Buster’s. I have been waiting several years for this service to arrive in Houston and it looks like it goes live next week or so. So I got a little later start on the bike ride tonight.
The clear skies are a welcome sight after yesterday’s drizzle all day. With 61 degrees and a NNW wind at 14 mph dressing properly was again an issue. For a change I got it right: long sleeve fleece jersey over a T-shirt, Pearl Izumi windbreaker jacket, leg warmers, long fingered gloves. I was comfortable the whole ride. My road bike (Mercier Serpens Ltd 2.0) was up to the challenge.
Tonight’s ride statistics:
- miles = 16.21
- ride time = 1:07:41
- average pace = 4.11 min/mile
- average speed = 14.4
- average cadence = 76.7
- max cadence = 109
- climb = 161 ft., descend = 177 ft.
- YTD miles = 784.15
