Training or Unfinished Business? LA Registered for Texas MTB race
from singletrack.com
…To see Armstrong registered for the 2010 Miles of DisComfort Mountain Bike Marathon in Comfort, Texas on Jan. 30 could mean a couple of things: He’s looking to get in some mountain bike saddle time or finishing something left unfinished in 2008 — namely the Miles of DisComfort. …

Dishevelled Stars: The Bicycle-Skirt Dilema

Sometimes I worry Lennon and I are too on the same page. I’ve had the skeleton of this “skirts + bicycles” post up and ready for completion since I finished breakfast and left for work, and then I came home to find Lennon espousing the never-before-realized joys of cut off denim shorts on Facebook – all because of his new love for bicycles! He has a pair of terrible cut-off denim shorts that look like something Huck Finn would wear if he had been alive and playing hookey circa 1970. Lennon then posted this picture, with a note apologizing to hipsters of the world for all of the flack he’s given this hipster-favored look in the past: …

But, since we’ve now done so much work to develop a community of recumbent riders here in central Texas, we’re trying to add more content to our current customers and riders in general. … This bike generated some buzz last year after winning its division in the cross-country Race Across America. Note that we carry the eponymous X-Stream, which has a front road brake, Hoagie seat, and 650c wheels, and is primarily targeted at recreational road riders. …

Sassy & Thin in 2010: Mirror mirror, the MS150, and My Readers
by Olivia
Okay, moving on….Yesterday I sent out an email to friends/family/coworkers telling them I have signed up for the MS150 (A bike ride from Houston to Austin, Texas to raise money for multiple sclerosis.) When you sign up for this bike ride you are required to raise at least $400 before the ride. I hate asking for money, but I don’t really have $400 to throw at this, especially since I need…

Just finished sending out begging e-mails to all my friends. No, I haven’t blown the family savings on a new bike, I’m kicking off my fund-raising for the MS150, and everyone has been incredibly generous in the past. If you’re reading this…

ChipSeal: Perilous Journey
by ChipSeal
I rolled out of my driveway at about 2:30 on a trip to Waxahachie. It was warmer than it had been in days, even though it was cloudy. The weatherman had predicted a high of 55 degrees, but it was already warmer than that. Rain was scheduled to start the next evening. I had some extra pieces of warm clothing in a small back-pack, just in case I was caught out after dark. …

Whitney Schultz: Last Semester of Undergrad
by Whitney
…January 11-14th was the Texas Cycling training camp, my last big project and contribution as Vice President! It was a little bittersweet for me because it’s crazy that I am already graduating, but it will be good for me to do a little less for the team so I can find a job. Camp itself was good- we had 40 people go and many were newbies. We had two beautiful days of riding…
Biking at Memorial Park (Houston)
from www.YouTube.com (italianvampichi)
That would be me mountain biking at Memorial Park’s bike trail in Houston Texas on the 16th of April 2009. The biker who falls down in the video is not me (just for the record); I simply thought it was hilarious.
