UTPA looks to make proposed trail part of regional network

EDINBURG — Hudson DeYoe has watched bicycle traffic on the University of Texas-Pan American’s campus steadily grow in the 10 years he has been a professor there.
Students, faculty and staff often find it’s quicker to commute on a bicycle than deal with traffic congestion and parking issues, said DeYoe, a biology professor who sometimes bikes to campus. But others avoid biking to school because of hazards they face on city streets where some drivers use bike lanes as turn lanes. …

Well no ride today. I’m pretty bummed. I tried the Pearland Cycling Club and looked like the only people riding were the race team and well to be honest, I really don’t think my legs are ready for that yet. I understand why no one wants to ride, after all, it was in the 20’s this morning. I know it’s crazy to want to ride in cold like that, but I just want to ride. I want to finally stick to a training plan and not rationalize my way out of it. …
