Easton EA 30 Stems Recalled
by Singletrack.com
Easton has identified a potential safety issue involving the four bolt Easton EA 30 stem and is recalling the item.
The stems in question — from 2007, 2008 and 2009 — can crack and eventually break during use.
Although the stem passed all of the industry tests, this particular issue was not uncovered during those tests, according to a company recall statement. Easton is recalling the affected stems and replacing them with new stems which are subject to even more stringent quality controls.
The EA 30 stems in question have been sold as individually packaged pieces and equipped on various bicycle brands.
Find out if you have an EA 30 stem that needs to exchanged.
People with an EA 30 stem should contact either their authorized Easton dealer or Easton directly to receive a free replacement. Recalled stems will be replaced with a new Easton stem. All labor charges associated with this recall will be coveredby Easton.
