City Council on Monday approved architect services for the first phase of Pearland’s Trail Connectivity Project.
Construction of the two-mile trail that traverses the city is slated to start within the next seven to eight months.
The project’s first phase includes about two miles of a 10-foot wide concrete hike and bike trail that begins at Centennial Park on the south side of Mary’s Creek and travels west to Manvel Road (FM 1128). In addition to the trail, the plan calls for bridges to cross Mary’s Creek, 10 informational kiosks, landscaping along the trail and 20 picnic tables.
