Beatrice Tour of Texas

Now that the Amgen Tour of California has been completed I was thinking back many years to the Beatrice Tour of Texas. I still have a bicycle cap from the last year of the tour. I went to the Astrodome for a criterium around the outside road that circled the dome. The sun was hot as was the racing but the crowd was no where near the crowds in California. But this was before a guy named Lance and even before Greg Lemond. Sadly Beatrice disappeared as a sponsor and the Tour of Texas last only a year or two after that.

    Great website! I’m glad I stumbled upon it. I’ve seen a few different references to the Tour of Texas, but I can’t find any route info. Do you know the old routes that they used during the race? Or maybe where I could find them?
