Lone Star Ride – Dallas, TX
Day One – September 29th
Early morning with dew still on the grass, we leave Dallas by way of Historic Oak Cliff. Taking a quick exit of the city heading southwest, we salute beneficiary, AIDS Services of Dallas, as we pass Hillcrest House. Riding through gentle Texas country side, we gaze and rest at some beautiful Texas water areas including Mountain Creek Lake, Lynn Creek and Lake Alvarado. With pit stops every 10 or so miles for rest and nourishment, this is a wonderful country ride. Winding through many small communities including ride favorite, the little community of Nemo, we end our 80-plus mile day in beautiful historic Glen Rose.
Day Two – September 30th
After a peaceful night’s rest and a good breakfast, we head northeast through the beautiful Cleburne countryside. We will enjoy the magnificent shade trees of Joshua and get a chance to play on the gym sets or watch Frisbee Golf passing through Crowley. Our last pit stop on Day Two’s 60-plus mile ride is at beneficiary, AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County. Here we will gather as one large team to head into Ft. Worth for a closing ceremony to be remembered.
