Another Moisture Interrupted Bike Ride
Another moisture interrupted bike ride. Wheels down at 9:37 AM on my Canyon Endurace CF 7 bike. The plan was to ride north on the Kingwood – FM1485 – Kingwood route which would have been long enough to reach my August goal. As I rode several Kingwood Villages passing through patches of mist I was optimistic but once I reached the US59 north bound frontage road heading to FM1314 the mist increased to a drizzle with some fog thrown in. I didn’t know if this stretched beyond FM1314 so I made the u-turn under US59 and headed back. I moved to the side streets in Auburn Trails and Oakhurst and the drizzle returned to patches of mist before disappearing in Kings Manor and Kingwood. I rode 22.74 miles, not enough to reach my goal but leaving just 5 miles. I think I can hit my goal tomorrow. I finished the ride at 11:28 AM. Weather: Start 76 degrees, humidity 94%, dew point 74.3, overcast, wind NE 10 mph; Finish 76 degrees, humidity 94%, dew point 74.3, light drizzle fog, wind N 9 mph.
I reclaimed the Strava Local Legend on Kris Spraggins Memorial Route (2:44).
