Chasing the Wind: A 40-Mile Preparation for the End-of-March Tour
I’m continuing to ride my Canyon Endurace CF 7 with the DT Swiss Endurance LN wheels and 700x40mm tires, and wearing MTB shoes in preparation for my bike tour at the end of March. I want to be comfortable with the setup and identify any problems. Today’s bike ride on the Kingwood to Ramsey Road – Huffman route was the longest ride this month with 40.15 miles. On my previous bike ride on this route February 1st Ramsey Road north was closed due to road construction. I wondered if that still was the case today. Check the video to see what I found out. Wind was a big factor today biking to Ramsey Road, 18 mph with 29 mph gusts from the south. I pedaled hard the last 2 miles on Old Atascocita Road to Ramsey Road. There was nothing to obstruct the wind along that road but once I made the u-turn the wind assisted me back to Kingwood. Stava registered the Local Legend on Kings Crossing North (2:17).
