Azaleas Blooming, Headwind Looming. Riding Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman
I had to fight the headwind (22.4 kph) until I reached FM2100 and turned north to head back to Kingwood. After that the wind was favorable most of the ride even crossing Lake Houston out in the open. The ride started at 11:11 AM with me riding the Canyon Endurace CF 7 bike. The route was south and east but on a different route than usual; Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman. The last time i rode this route was September 23rd, 2023. The distance was similar with today’s 37.49 miles slightly longer. Strava went all the way back to September 8th, 2022 to match today’s ride. With the weather warming up the azaleas were blooming almost everywhere.
Some highlights from the AXS.SRAM.com ride report: 25 rear derailleur shifts, 1:41:13 using the 35×13 gears, 41:42 using the 35×15 gears.
Weather: Start 77 degrees, humidity 64%, dew point 63.9, mostly cloudy, wind SE 14 mph; Finish 78 degrees, humidity 66%, dew point 65.4, overcast, wind SE 14 mph.
