Guilty! Punishment phase begins in bike death trial

Waco, Tx (FOX 44) – The punishment phase in the manslaughter trial of a woman accused in the hit-and-run death of a bicycle-riding Baylor student was set to begin Friday morning in 54th District Court.
After a lengthy deliberation, the jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday in the trial of Tammy Renee Blankenship. She is charged in the death of 19-year-old David Grotberg, who was killed on October 6, 2016, as he and his girlfriend were riding their bicycles in the 3200 block of Franklin Avenue. Austin’s bike system will modernize and expand after CapMetro approved a contract partnering with a bike share system company on Jan. 29. The partnership will add new locations across Austin and replace all 80 stations with solely electric bikes.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas — A 10-year-old boy is recovering after he was hit by a car on the way to school.
Officials said the driver took off.
