Cool, Cloudy. Compensated With A Thermal Jersey And Fast Pedaling
Most of the morning it looked doubtful to ride outside but the temperature crawled above 60 degrees around 11:30. After a quick run to drop off a package at UPS I got dressed for the ride. Since it was cloudy and cooler than yesterday I wore a long sleeve thermal jersey under the wind jacket. Leg warmers completed my attire. I decided to ride around Kingwood and up to Brooklyn Trails with the desire to ride at least 20 miles. It took a little longer to get my body heat flowing to counter the wind chill. Maybe if the sun would’ve peeked out a little I would’ve felt warmer. Riding my Lynskey Helix streets and a couple of greenbelt trails got me to 23.27 miles. Starting at 12:05 PM and finishing at 1:53 PM got me back home before some light rain started. I’m still many miles from my January goal of 334 road miles. Weather: Start 63 degrees, humidity 83%, dew point 58, mostly cloudy, wind E 10 mph; Finish 65 degrees, humidity 83%, dew point 59.6, cloudy, wind NE 9 mph.
