Zwift – Stage 2 Tour de Zwift 2024 Rolling Highlands in Scotland
Back to Zwift for today’s virtual bike ride. At first I was going to ride a route in Watopia but I realized the Tour de Zwift was happening. In the companion app I found the next time for stage 2 and signed up starting at 1 PM. I chose Group B and the route was 3 laps of Scotland’s Rolling Highlands plus the lead-in. The 19.9 mile distance was longer than yesterday’s ride as was the 855 feet of elevation gain. I’m working to regain my form after not riding since December 18th, restarting this week. I missed stage 1 so I will try to make that up later. Each lap had a climb of 8 to 9%. The first 2 laps I rode up in the saddle but lap 3 I got out of the saddle. My legs were feeling all of the climbing. My overall average speed was 17.5 mph with a max of 32.2 mph (downhill). I did last too long with the front of the group but had other Zwifters around. According to ZwiftPower.com I was 552 out of 565 Zwifters with results there. Over at Strava I recorded PR on Rolling Highlands (18:11).
The route profile in Strava looks flatter than my legs remember.
