Earliest Start This Week. Cyclists Along Atascocita – Huffman – Walden Route
Today’s bike ride started at 8:49 AM, the earliest start this week and maybe the week before. The 7:32 AM sunrise meant the sky was cloudy and the humidity a hefty 98%. I expected the clouds to lift and the humidity go down as I headed to Huffman riding my Canyon Endurace bike on a slightly different Atascocita – Huffman – Walden route. I left out a couple of streets in the beginning so I could get to where I usually see other cyclists on Saturday. That worked as other cyclists passed my ride in Kingwood, Kings River, crossing Lake Houston, and Old Atascocita road. At the start of the ride I needed 22 miles to make a 200+ mile week. This route averages 34 miles and today I rode 32.51 miles pushing the week’s total to 210.98 and October to 854.47 road + Zwift miles. I rode swiftly today like I didn’t ride 45 miles yesterday. My legs had the power and my average speed hit 14.5 mph before settling back to 14.4 mph. The drive to get where other cyclists ride motivated faster pedaling, I think. I was back home at 11:12 AM, earlier than some of my recent bike rides started.
